The dedicated guard wasted no time reaching out to the former Bucks star after the blockbuster trade that brought Antetokounmpo to South Florida.
From Spain to Greece: Mitchell’s European Training Journey
Mitchell revealed that he was already scheduled to train in Spain at the NBAPA’s Sanctuary facility when the opportunity to connect with Giannis arose. Rather than stick to his original two-week plan, the point guard quickly adjusted his schedule, cutting his Spain stay to just one weekend so he could spend a full week training alongside Antetokounmpo in his home country starting July 19th.
The connection between the two players began with a simple text message. Mitchell explained that while they shared the same agency in the past, they never truly knew each other personally. However, when Mitchell asked about summer plans and expressed his desire to build chemistry, Giannis extended the invitation to join him in Greece. Mitchell’s response was immediate and enthusiastic acceptance.

The veteran guard has already begun tailoring his training regimen with Antetokounmpo in mind.
