Super Bowl LX is ready to go. The biggest party in American football will feature a high-voltage duel: the New England Patriots vs. the Seattle Seahawks, who will compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The number 1 seed in the National Conference faces the number 2 seed in the American Conference in what promises to be one of the most evenly matched Super Bowls in recent years. Both teams come into the game after a dominant regular season and solid performances in the 2025-2026 NFL postseason.

Patriots and Seahawks, the most consistent teams of the NFL season

With a record of 14 wins and 3 losses, both the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots proved to be the most complete teams of the year. Their balance between offense and defense makes them worthy protagonists of Super Bowl 60, also known as Super Sunday.

This matchup is a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX (2015), when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s Patriots dramatically defeated Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll’s Seahawks.

A new era on the NFL sidelines

The context is very different from that historic matchup. Seattle is entering a new era under Mike Macdonald, who took over as head coach in 2024 and put his trust in Sam Darnold as his starting quarterback.

On the New England side, Mike Vrabel took the reins in 2025 and bet on the young talent of Drake Maye, a second-year quarterback who has been key in the Patriots’ return to the Super Bowl.

Seahawks and Patriots return to the Super Bowl

This will be the Seahawks’ fourth appearance in a Super Bowl and their first since the 2014 season. Macdonald, in just his second year as head coach, is looking to give Seattle its second NFL championship and become one of the youngest coaches to win a Super Bowl, at just 38 years old.

For Mike Vrabel, this Super Bowl represents a historic opportunity: a win would mean a seventh title for the Patriots and make him the first man in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a player and head coach with the same franchise.

Patriots vs Seahawks history in the NFL

The Patriots and Seahawks have faced each other 20 times in their history, with 11 wins for Seattle and 9 for New England. They have only met once in a Super Bowl, Super Bowl XLIX, which was won by the Patriots.

The most recent regular season matchup was in 2024, when Seattle won 23-20 in overtime.

Bad Bunny to headline Super Bowl LX Halftime Show

The Super Bowl LX Halftime Show will have a Latin flavor. Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny, one of the world’s most influential musical figures, will be lighting up the stage at Levi’s Stadium.

Since the announcement, Bad Bunny and the NFL have been working together, including the launch of a special collection of NFL team apparel and plush toys, which has been very well received by fans.
