The meeting followed the formal assumption of the G20 presidency by the United States on December 1, ahead of the 2026 cycle. This leadership role coincides with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, a milestone the administration highlighted as an opportunity to refocus the group on its core economic mission.
